You put it on salad, you put it on pizza and you even put it on fries. Yep, I’m talking about the favorite Ranch Dressing! But this isn’t that BAD stuff loaded with MSG, oh no. This is Too Wholesome (reference to the name of my boat).
It’s not complicated, so inspired by the plethora of chives I have this Spring, I decided to indulge in some fun while waiting for milk to cool. ?( I’m making another batch of yogurt and it’s a time consuming process.)
This is so yummy and easy, I’m just gonna get right to it.
Rhonda’s Garden Ranch
1 cup Mayo- I’m not going to proselytize about which mayo you should be using. Use whatever makes you happy, just don’t use Miracle Whip!
1 cup of buttermilk- again organic, not- you choose.
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 or so of onion powder- I love the stuff so a smidgen more is fine with me.
1 teaspoon or so of snipped fine (yes snipped) chives, get your herb scissors out.
1/2 teaspoon of dill seed smashed between the palms of your hands until they are practically powder OR dill weed
2 teaspoons of dried parsley, again powdered between your palms. Fun right?
3/4 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt and pepper if you like (some do, some don’t).
Combine the mayo and buttermilk until the lumps disappear
Add the remaining ingredients, combine thoroughly
Pour into an awaiting vessel and chill.
Lick the spoon 🙂
